The MapMan LBS Platform powers Social Location for applications, services and location based content on Smartphones, Tablets, Slates, Netbooks, Notebooks and Desktop PCs.

The MapMan Platform enables the industry’s most comprehensive Social Location functionality (detailed below). MapMan is highly modular and customizable and can be implemented with Spime’s readymade modules where location becomes a standard component of the device software stack and / or service provider offering. LBS functionality is deeply integrated across the tasks on any device and available when and where it adds value through the below Service Modules:

MapMan’s “true” hybrid architecture powering applications with superior Social Location functionality and map display quality whether connected to the Internet or Not. Because the MapMan Platform, map and POI data and applications are pre-installed on the device, users have complete map related functionality even when not connected. When connected the MapMan Platform dynamically fetches Web content and services enabled through Spime Cloud Based Services. Users can discover, trial and purchase additional maps, dynamic POIs, and premium dynamic services as well as receive highly relevant coupon offerings and advertisements.

MapMan currently supports Win 7, Win XP, Win CE, Windows Mobile 6.5 and Android. Windows Phone 7 and other operating systems as requested are planned for the near future.

MapMan's “true” hybrid architecture provides a competitive advantage because Social Location is deeply integrated across the many tasks performed on devices and because complete location functionality is available whether connected or not . Other popular mapping services require a user to be connected to the Internet and thereby limit when and where mapping services are available.
